Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to Your Questions
Do I need an appointment?
Yes! Fire Flower is an appointment only studio.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is based on size, location, and amount of detail. Shop minimum is $100, and we run an hourly rate of $150. For a more specific price, please reach out to an artist.
What should I do to prepare for getting the tattoo?
To give yourself the best chance at having an amazing tattoo session:
Lotion the area you are getting tattooed every day for a week leading up to the appointment.
Eat a hardy meal before coming in. Tattoos are very stressful to the body, we want to keep your sugars up!
Stay hydrated! It is important you keep hydrated before, during, and after your tattoo. You will quickly feel faint otherwise.
No alcohol within 24 hours of your tattoo. Alcohol is a blood thinner, and will interfere with your body's natural clotting abilities. We know you may be nervous, but please avoid alcohol the day leading up to your appointment date.
Does it hurt and is it safe?
The pain from getting a tattoo is unpleasant, but by no means unbearable. We work in a safe, clean and sterile environment and use disposable materials.
Do you do coverups.
Yes, but because of the unique nature of a well designed coverup we need to see your tattoo first. You will have to discuss this with your artist.
Do you do piercings?
No.
Does your shop take card?
Yes, We also accept cash and card as well as PayPal transaction.
Do you sell all the aftercare products I’ll need?
Yes. We carry a limited stock of aftercare packages for clients as well as a small selection of ointments and lotions. Every client gets an aftercare instruction sheet, so you will know what products we recommend regardless if you purchase aftercare from the shop or not.
How old do I need to be to get a tattoo
18, regardless of parental consent. This includes out of state visitors.
Can I bring a friend?
Only with your artist's permission. We want you to be as comfortable as possible, but too many people creates distractions in the studio.
Can I bring my own art?
Absolutely! We may suggest changes to make it more tattooable, but we have no issues with bringing your own art.
Saniderm/Tegaderm/Recovery was used on my tattoo, how long do I keep it on for?
Your artist will give you a timeframe. If you forgot their recommendation we generally suggest at least 24 hours to at most 5 days.
Where are you located?
We are in South Town Plaza 3333 W Henrietta Rd Rochester NY 14623, Set 41A. We're between Altitude Trampoline Park and Fire Auto.
Do you have parking?
